How do you run an exe file?

When I select download from the website, my only option is to save. I then click on the saved file but am asked for an application to open it. What do I choose?

Hello Bertie,
normally you don't need to run .exe files in ubuntu. That is one of the reasons why there are almost no viruses on ubuntu. But if you need to run .exe file you can use some programs, see link below.
