genome crashed after wine is installed

Asked by achapp

Hello
I am using fiesty fawn ubuntu in amd 64 architecture . I have also installed the xububtu-desktop in my system . I installed wine_0.9.38 from the root terminal . The problem I am facing is that I could not logon to the genome session after that (with the normal user) . But there is no problem with the xfce session . Also I can login as root in the gnome session . None of the other users can login . The session is initialized and then freezes with a white blank screen . What can be the reasons and how it can be solved

with regards
Ashraf

Thanks for your question.

How exactly did you install wine? Which package, with which commands?

Since wine is relatively independent from all other parts of the system, there might be another reason why the users can't log in.

Please provide the output of

1) ls -l /home
2) ls -l /

Can you help with this problem?
