Asked by Tom

Is there a way to run Tivo Desktop 2.7 in Wine? I've tried several times but it doesn't work. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I believe there might be but i think there is a better native linux answer to what you're trying to do. It's in the "Solved" answers database and is worth hunting for.

Good luck with this, regards from
Tom :)

Yeah, hi Tom.

I suppose you're referring to pyTivo. I've tried installing pyTivo and can never get it to work. Too bad it's not available through Add/Remove programs or synaptic manager.

Plus, TIVO Desktop 2.7 has some new features that are not offered through pyTivo.

Thanks,
-Tom

Try "Report a bug" and suggest an upgrade for pyTivo for the repos ;)

There's also 'upstream' at Bugzilla. Sorry, not much help really but hopefully might work? I think running your desktop through Wine is potentially risky. Presumably you have already looked through the Wine Applications Database?

I couldn't find anything directly relevant but i didn't really hunt much at all.

Good luck and regards from
Tom too ;)

Try Tivo4Tiny which I believe is in the Ubuntu repositories.

Can you help with this problem?
