Maybe you can run Windows programs by runnig wine (Wine is a compatibility layer for running Windows applications on Linux. Applications are run at full speed without the need of cpu emulation. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, however it can use native system dll files in place of its own if they are available.)

You can install software via the Synaptic Package Manager (also wine). Or you can click
- Applications
- Add / Remove

Or you can open a Terminal and enter: sudo apt-get install program.

Hope it helps.

Please prefer native software for Ubuntu Linux instead of install and run software using Wine...

Please look for a valid Ubuntu alternative for the software you usually use in Windows...

Then to install software in Ubuntu

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/InstallingSoftware
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/installingsoftware

I'm pretty sure you will find it...

Please ask here..

Thank you
