It's not possible to run Windows software in a Linux envirionment. Windows is windows, and Linux is Linux. It's different.

But maybe wine helps. You can install wine from the Synaptic Package Manager or from Add / Remove.

Hope it helps.

It's usually better to find a native linux program(s) that does much the same thing (usually better) rather than running things under "Wine". Wine stands for "Wine Is Not an Emulator" as it uses a very different and much faster approach. If you can't get it running in Wine then it might be worth using VirtualBox or some other package that can run a virtual machine inside linux and then install Xp or something onto the virtual machine. Personally i just have a dual-boot machine and save up all my Windows "to do" list for the next time i need to switch my machine on again. This happens less and less often - i almost always boot straight into Ubuntu nowadays.

GnuCash does a lot of the same things as Quickbooks, definitely worth exploring. Just go up to the top taskbar and click on

System - Administration - Synaptic Package Manager

it asks for your normal user password, not your SuperUser/Root one. Use either search tool. Note the "Search" button looks in descriptions as well as titles. Anything already installed is marked with a green blob. Anything you want to install just right-click on and select install. When you've chosen everything you fancy click on "Apply".

I am fairly sure that Quickbooks doesn't work at all well in Wine but i am not sure about the other package you mentioned. Possibly worth looking up in the Wine Applications Database
