Does this happen with all cds you would expect to autorun, or just this one? What's the exact error?

Can you open the disk and run the .exe file directly (possibly autorun.exe) instead of using autorun?

this does happen with all the cds.The exact error is : error autorunning software, cannot find the autorun program.
I try to run the .exe file but that says An error occurred while loading the archive (null).

Maybe try running Linux programs instead of Windows ones. Look in Applications - Add/Remove Applications for native linux programs. Otherwise install Wine and try running them with Wine

I installed wine, and ran the setup but another error popped up saying, windows installation encountered an unexpected error. verify that the installation sources are accessible and restart the installation.

Hello akachu1.

In order to run a Windows CD under ubuntu, you just have to install Wine and double click .exe files (or type "wine autorun D:\" in a console to autorun the CD-rom under D: drive).

Now, if you're trying to install Windows 7 Beta (at your own risk, i don't install a Windows before SP2, and only if i'm forced to), then maybe you should consider the fact that, in order to install an OS, you need to BOOT on the CD containing the install files, instead of booting on an OS and then running the CD's content (yeh, i know ubuntu and vista have installers that can be run from other os's, but this is crap (esp. vista's one, of course)).

Also, before you install, i *strongly* advise you to make an NTFS primary (important!) partition with Gparted directly from Ubuntu, so that it will be done *correctly*.

Also, get yourself an Ubuntu LiveCD or the SuperGrubDisk because 7's installer WILL destroy Grub and you WON'T be able to boot under anything else than 7 till you repair it.

If you are still having trouble with this then please post it as a new question. Only the most recent questions tend to get looked at so posting/re-posting a question just before america arrives online after work/school gives the best chance of getting a good few answers - such is the nature of the internet.
