Is it a Windows CD? Take care, Windows is Windows and Linux is Linux. It's completely different. If it is a Windows CD, try to install wine. Maybe it helps.

What kind of printer do you have? Ubuntu supports a lot of HP printers. It shouldn't be a problem, to install a HP printer.

Hope it helps.

You can find Wine in the Synaptic package Manager. And the Synaptic package manager you can find by clicking System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager.

Or you can istall Wine via a Terminal. Enter
sudo apt-get install wine

You can find the Terminal by clicling Applications > Accessoires > Terminal.

Hope it helps.
