trouble playing a game after installing

I have the sims complete collection game for pc. I have downloaded the "wine" program already.. The game installed no problem, but when I try to play it....Nothing happens.. The play screen will appear, but when i click on play the screen goes away and I am back to square one.. Can anyone help me? I have also tried to install other games and it does the same thing.. Installs but wont let me play it.. Thanks Dee

The Homepage of the Wine Project has an extensive list of applications and games, which often includes help in getting some programs to run, under http://appdb.winehq.com
Unfortunately, the Sims doesn't seem to work with Wine at the moment, as can be see here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=8696
Maybe this will change with future version of wine, but it seems to be an issue with the copy protection used by the Sims.
