Linux is no Windows the exe program are made for dos/Windows
So to try to run exe into Linux you need to install the Wine package and then run the program with wine.

To install wine

Please first enable the universe repository:

Open System → Administration → Software sources → [ Tab Ubuntu software ]
enable "Community Maintained open source software (universe)"
Close and confirm the repository reload.

Then open a Terminal from the menu Applications → Accessories → Terminal and type:

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install wine

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

Then there are a lot of howto on the net:

Hope this helps

Please don't run any Espon install cd to install a printer under Ubuntu please simply try to add your printer by open the menu: System → Administration → Printing and choose your printer from that tools

Hope this helps
