Can't install File Maker
This is the 2nd task I've attempted in my first use of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS today - I've stuck my "File Maker" CD in the PC which my wife must have for her work. When I click the "setup.exe" file to install it I get a message saying "Archive: /media/FM Pro 8.5/setup.exe
[/media/FM Pro 8.5/setup.exe]
End-of-
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
note: /media/FM Pro 8.5/setup.exe may be a plain executable, not an archive
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /media/FM Pro 8.5/setup.exe or
/media/FM Pro 8.5/setup.exe.zip, and cannot find /media/FM Pro 8.5/setup.exe.ZIP, period."
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME QUICKLY IF I'M WASTING MY TIME TRYING UBUNTU OR IF THERE IS A SIMPLE WAY TO GET THIS OS TO INSTALL AND RUN A PIECE OF SOFTWARE.

*.exe isn't native in *nix environments.

Thanks - I tried Wine but got a message saying "FileMaker Pro 8.5.msi missing" after the install started so looks as though I will have to go back to Windows.

Well a newer version was reported last with 9.10 and 10.04.

If you need the app and it doesn't run in wine, virtualize windows and you can run the app there, you can then use the Ubuntu OS for the rest of your system needs.
BTW adding:
'looks as though I will have to go back to Windows.'
Doesn't make anyone want to help you any more or less, it's worthless.
Can you help with this problem?
