Error code 403 when downloading flash for safari

Asked by Paul Anthony

I am trying to install Flash to play YouTube videos on Safari. I've successfully install Safari but can't play videos.

According to many resources online, I am to type in the terminal: wget http://ubuntu-debs.googlecode.com/files/SafariSetup.exe

This is what I am getting: HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 403 Forbidden

Can anyone help with this?

FYI: I already have Firefox with Flash install but I like the look & speed of Safari.

Thanks!

.exe is a file extension used in MS-Win environments.

Maybe try wine.

Afaik adobe isn't compatible with mac environment anyway.
Regarding the 403 maybe needs a google account or ask the one which provided the link about it.

Thank you Sam.

Adobe has Flash for Safari but only for Mac or Windows. I've followed instructions stating to download Flash as a windows application & then to open it using Wine.

I've gotten pretty far where it shows that it is downloading but then stops in the middle of it with an error.

Just download the safari installer using the browser. If you want a webkit based browser then there are plenty of native browsers and you won't have to use wine..

I'm closing this out. Safari's not worth it enough to go through this trouble. sticking with firefox.
