I can't vouch for any of this but there are known issues with installing office. There is a step by step guide here

I don't think Microsoft Office 2007 is supported in Wine. You can try getting Libreoffice for Ubuntu(It should be preinstalled or in Ubuntu Software center) or use this page as a guide:
