Installing Wine 1.4 on Ubuntu 11.10

So, I went to WineHQ and downloaded the Wine 1.4 set. I then extracted the Wine 1.4 folder, and clicked on the "wineinstaller" executeable in the folder. When it prompted, I selected "execute in the terminal"

Is this the right way to install WINE 1.4? Does that even work with Ubuntu 11.10?

I ask because it's been installing for ~15 min, and I don't know how to check whether it's trapped/in some sort of loop, or if it's really just taking that long...

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.3
