Asked by Luk2478

Whenever I try to run the application I get
run-time error '429':
activex component can't create object
When running in terminal using the command:
wine C:\\Program\ Files\\Borg\ Design\\Lista\ Firme\ \(Romanian\ Companies\)\ Demo\\LstFirme.exe
I get:
fixme:toolhelp:CreateToolhelp32Snapshot Unimplemented: heap list snapshot
Is the app known to work? Did you check the appdb?

It's the demo application from this page

not all apps work in Wine. Yours doesn't appear to be listed.

What does the app do, maybe there is a native alternative.

This app is a database with contact information and other useful stuff about romanian companies. I am looking for a job so I was trying to use this database to contact companies from my area of expertise.
I was trying to install it using Oracle virtual device. Then I get another error "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine"
It seems that the programmers of this database made everything to stop non MS WIndows users to access their software.

You can install Windows to a virtualbox then run the app there, you will be running both OSes in parallel which is a bit of a bloat and you will also need a valid Windows install media and license.

If you dual boot, you could just run the app in Windows there too.

Can you help with this problem?
