I switched from Windows to Ubuntu, but now I can't load my Sims3 game. Help!

Can someone help me with loading Windows based PC games like SimCity or The Sims3 in Ubuntu?
Do I have to go back to Windows so I can play my old games? Do I have to buy new versions to stay with Ubuntu?

Ubuntu it's free.
Yes, you have to use Windows to play because Ubuntu don't support them.

Install wine1.3 and it may run (Gold rating is good but not perfect, that is the platinum rating)

sims3 runs just fine under "wine 1.3". Just install it and then you will be able to install most of the windows OS softwares.

SimCity Classic is actually open source. They were not allowed to use the SimCity brand, so it was renamed to micropolis. It is in ubuntu oneiric -- you should be able to install it from your package manager (sotware centre).

P.S. Its in all ubuntus from lucid and up.
