Can't get access to print coupons.

Asked by DEBRA HOWELL

I don't understand Ubuntu. I always have trouble with everything I try to do.

I have started couponing and cannot download their printer application, guess that's how to explain it.

I have seen where you need windows or some other set ups but it says///Coupon Alert -2 exe could not be opened because the associated helper application does not exisr.

Change the associationin your preference.

How do I do this.

I will need to have my daughter do whatever is necessary because I do not understand computers...not sure she understands this set up.

Thanks.

So do you want to install a driver for your printer to make it print. Is that the issue?

what coupon printer are you using? which site did you download it from?
it's important that you provide this information if you want your problem solved.

An exe file is a Windows file and Ubuntu doesn't support it. You could try installing Wine on Ubuntu and see if that will work.

not necessarily chris. some coupon programs look for internet explorer and won't run without it. i had that problem.

Marcus, that was the "see if that will work" part.

Had this problem for a year or so. Must use User Agent, or it says it does not support browser.
coupon.com
couponsinc.com
coupon2.smartsourc.com
Do not work on Ubuntu 10.04 or 10.10. The just hang or give warning of untrusted certificate.
I quit using Ubuntu for coupons. I use Windows XP. The malware removal programs, remove coupon printing programs, after I download coupons. I assume that Ubuntu knows these are malware, and blocks them. If you try to force them, it can crash Firefox. If otherwise please inform me. Thanks

Can you help with this problem?
