Cannot run downloaded software. Get an error message mentioning end of central directory signature and zipfile.

windoze software won't run under linux systems. you might want to install wine from the software directory and run the program under wine to see if it works.

you might want to check www.winehq.com and look under the AppDB tab to see if the program is listed and if people were able to make it work.

To run a program with Wine, you'll right-click on it and click "Open With Wine" or "Wine Windows Program Loader" or something similar, depending on your Ubuntu version and interface.
