when installing microsoft word from this linkhttp://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=4992 do I remove winetricks

Asked by Nathaniel edwards

on the link http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=4992 it states that I have to
Install to a clean wineprefix (no winetricks or other tweaks, no other applications installed).

I have installed winetricks does this mean I have to uninstall it and what other apps is it talking about?

it also states at the bottom in the howto section
WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=/path/to/wineprefix winecfg
(Substitute the actual path for /path/to/wineprefix in the above command.)

Is the command it mentions in the link an actual command I can enter in terminal to install wineprefix are communicate with the shell program if it is already installed?

Hello,

If you insist on using MS Office read the Full Circle Magazine issue 52 page 37. The magazine is free and you can download all 4 years of back issues.

The web page is: http://fullcirclemagazine.org/

writer suck because it entirely based on styles and frames, whereas word works on the fly. but with some reading, you can master writer. libreoffice has evolved quite a bit over the last couple of years, so it's better than ms office in a lot of aspects.

anyhoo, you don't need to uninstall winetricks, just run it and click on "clear winetricks prefix"

Hello,

I agree with Marcus. There is nothing wrong with LibreOffice, you just have to work at it. The added advantage is there is no licence payment involved.

Allan :)
