how do I load 2005 peachtree accounting into ubuntu

Asked by Sanford Moser

I have an HP laptop dv 9000 that was running windows xp prior to loading ubuntu. I love ubuntu. My peachtree 2005 accounting software was working fine in xp.

However since I want to use ubuntu I placed the peachtree cd into the laptop and I can not seem to load it. Can someone please help?

Note: when I loaded the ubuntu cd operating system it said I should be able to switch back to xp. However, I don't know what to type in grub to allow that. It may be necessary to switch between xp and ubuntu when I need access to my peachtree accounting (I run my business from that software) then switch back to ubuntu for everything else.

Thank you very much.
Sanford

It doesn't run. You will need to run a virtualbox and install the app in Windows there, this will mean running BOTH OSes at the same time. If the app is the main use of the system then I suggest you stick with Windows. It also doesn't run in CrossOver Office:

You could instead use an open source alternative.

What command should I type in grub to switch to xp?

Are you aware of an open source accounting software alternative I could look at?

Thank you,
Sanford

Please create a new question for your grub issue.

Thanks. There are accountancy softwares available if you search the software centre
