I suggest you to use other bittorrent client like Transmission, because uTorrent must be used with WINE.

Anyway, here's the guide on how to install it in Ubuntu:

Keep attention: if you follow the how-to, when you download utorrent, you must download the windows version. NOT the linux one.

Enrico, please don't pollute the answers forums by totally side-stepping the question. This solution deals with using WINE and not at all with a solution on how install the linux version of uTorrent from it's it's gzip/tar format. If you can't answer the original question, don't answer at all.

Having said that, the best way is to uncompress the gzip/tarball using your favorite decompression program and read the instructions. It's fairly simple. Place "utorrent" somewhere in the system path, like /bin or /opt or and chmod / flag it as an executable file and you're all set.

Can you help with this problem?
