trying to get OSS working on Wine 1.3.15: No Soundcard Found [Ubuntu 11.04 AMD64]

Asked by Jantire

So I was trying to get OSS working on Wine 1.3.15. I installed what seemed like relevant packages, restarted, and am now unable to play any sound on my computer. No errors pop up. I've tried running through this guide --> https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting and it led me to here.

Before I installed those packages, everything seemed to be working (other than for Wine to be using OSS). The reason why I wanted Wine to use OSS is because Spotify requires it to play sound well under Wine.

Sound Preferences has no available devices to configure.

This is running on Ubuntu 11.04 AMD64

Your help would be very much appreciated.

You don't have any Alsa driver version. This will make you not get any sound
