Running programmes installed on Windows

Asked by bennett

I have installed FIFA 11 on Windows, but I want to install Ubuntu. Can I still play my already installed game or I have to install a new one? By the way, can I play it on Ubuntu?

If you install it as dual-boot, or with Wubi, there wouldn't be any problem. You cannot play it on Ubuntu because it is made for Windows, and not for Linux.

1. if you installed it in windoze, you won't be able to play it in ubuntu. if you want to play it in ubuntu, you'll have to install it in ubuntu. it's like, i have a satellite radio in my car and i'm wondering if my sister can listen to the radio stations in her car. if she doesn't have a satellite radio in hers, then no she can't.

2. there's no guarantee it will run in ubuntu because it was developed for windoze. however, you can try it to see if it will run in ubuntu, but you'll have to install the program called wine first.

3. you can check the wine appdb at www.winehq.com to see if the game is listed in their apps database and to see how others may have made it work. however, this database is rather old and not up-to-date. so your best option is to install wine and try the game out.
