Photoscape Installation

Asked by Miles Fuentes

So here I am again for yet another question to all of you trust worthy people. So I downloaded photoscape. It is an application in which you can enhance your pictures in one click. Problem is I can't seem to install it. I tried using the terminal. I typed sudo apt-get install photoscape, after then I tried sudo apt-get install PhotoScapeSetup_V3.5.exe. Both didn't work. Any advices?

You don't use apt-get with windows binaries. You will need to install wine then run the binary with wine. You may need to make the file executable but you can do this in nautilus or terminal. You should also check the wine appdb to make sure the app is compatible

WTH is that about. I've done exactly as what this site told me to. http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu When I download the file, something opens that asks me to open the download with the software sources thingy. After I click ok, nothing happens. What should I do now? :o

Run:

sudo apt-get install wine

If you don't install wine you cannot install Windows apps (assuming they are compatible, not all apps run, some will refuse to install).

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=7854

Gives it a bronze for the latest version but the 3.4 runs flawlessly. The description sounds a lot like EOG (Eye of gnome) which is installed by default.
