Run Pastel Partner on Ubuntu

Asked by Dors

I am new to Ubuntu.

I wish to run Pastel Partner on Ubuntu. Do you require to load any specific programs from the software centre to run Pastel? If so which?

Pastel Partner does not appear to be a linux program, and thus cannot be run directly.

You will need to install the "wine" (windows emulation/compatibility layer) package; however this system is a "best-effort" system, and it cannot be guaranteed that this will work --- you have to try.

If you have not used this program previously, you *may* find it easier to use some of the accounting software available in the built-in software repositories. These will certainly be easier to install, but may not have the features you are looking for -- this depends upon your circumstances.

It doesn't appear in the appdb too. If it doesn't run then try the wine ppa to get wine 1.3 which is a later version than in the ubuntu repos

Can you help with this problem?
