why cant i download sony walkman bean version 3.2 sonic stage if i cant use this how do i download music unto my sony bean . i need step by step instructions as im not comp savvy

The app is a Windows app, Ubuntu isn't Windows, it is a distribution of Linux so most likely won't work.

If you simply plug the device into your PC as normal, does the system react and offer to show the files, play the files etc??

when i insert the bean into comp a screen pops up & says ive inserted a digital audio player how do i want to launch & it says open w/rhythmbox music player & i hit ok. it starts to import music then a screen pops up for a suitable plugin it asks if i want to search for a suitbale plugin to play media files that the required software to play file isnt installed. it says the search may include software which is not offically supported then it shows cancel or search. i hit cancel i didnt know if i should cont w the search. it finishes importing files on left of screen under device i see 1.0gb symbol click on that and a red circle minus shows next to import and i click on that and on the rt it shows the files but says it they cant be identified ..what do i do please help me . i need step by step instructions thank u

Jaunty is no longer supported in ANY way. It is EOL.I suggest you upgrade to Lucid as Karmic (9.10) support as well as Hardy (8.04 LTS) support on the desktop ends at the end of the month. Jaunty support ended October 23rd 2010.
