problem unmounting with multi-disk install using "Wine"

Asked by somthinzup@live.com

Very new to Ubuntu -

Having serious problem with multi-disk install using "Wine" - tried ALL solutions I can find & none worked. When trying to "unmount" 1st disk - I recieve one of two errors messages - one is - drive is busy.. usr/bin/wineserver -

I am having a problem with "eject" and/or Umount" function when using wine to install multi-disk games. I have tried every suggestion that I can find in forums & on Chat -- also tried ALL available versions of WIne and latest Crossover. Problem remains.
I suspect it is a hardware problem due to recent change of older NEC model CD/RW drive to LITE_ON CD/DVD needed for some game installs - but lack experience to solve problem. {Like I said - Only 4 days into using Ubuntu.}

After loading 'Wine' & installing 1st disk - I am unable to unmount, eject or continue with install. I tried all Terminal suggestions with these results - Either, the command - "wine eject -a " is accepted and nothing happens..OR..A message is returned - "Unable to locate CD device drive d: - if I try "-u". -- Then when - using GNOME panel and accessing Disk utility - It tells me CD/DVD = dev/sr0 also that mounting point = /media/CoD1 {example}. I tried to unmount & eject in Disk utility - message return = busy at /usr/bin/wineserver - Any suggestions, solutions or help is greatly appreciated!

you don't need to unmount your cds. what unmount does is make a device inactive.
just pop the cd out and pop a new one in.

I hear that q4wine solved a multi-disk install problem with its eject program, under the programs tab. No further info, from a Linux Journal article.

Can you help with this problem?
