Full Tilt Poker is a Windows program, so if you want to attempt to run it on Ubuntu, you'll have to use Wine (see http://winehq.org for information about how that works).

First, install Wine. Go to Applications > Ubuntu Software Center, type "wine" (without the quotes) into the search box at the upper-right corner of the windows, select "Wine Microsoft Windows Compatibility Layer" and click Install. Then, in your Downloads folder, right-click on the installer for Full Tilt Poker (its name ends in .exe) and click "Wine Windows Program Loader" to run it.

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=2839 suggests that Full Tilt Poker should run quite well on Ubuntu with Wine. If you experience problems, you might find answers there. If not, or if for any reason you have problems with the above instructions, please free to post again (by replying to this question, not by creating a new one).
