Help Insatlling Diablo II from cd

I have Diablo II and LoD DII , (my Favorite Game) Is there any way to install this on Linux Ubuntu 10.0?

he file '/media/INSTALL/setup.exe' is not marked as executable. If this was downloaded or copied form an untrusted source, it may be dangerous to run. For more details, read about the executable bit.

wine is saying its blocked, Its a purchased cd set so i dunno...

Install PlayOnLinux. It's a front end for Wine that makes things easier. It particularly mentions installing Diablo 2 and LoD.

You seem to be running Wine as root, this is a bad idea, you should always run it as a normal user.
Other than that, /media/INSTALL doesn't seem to be the path to where the installer is - try typing "wine " (without the quotes, including the space) in the terminal and then drag the installer on to the terminal (pasting the correct path) and then press enter.

Also, use TAB to complete filenames. As Christian states, running apps in wine is a REALLY BAD idea. You should run as FEW apps as possible with root to reduce possible system damage.

thx for the help but now the whole system crashed, I was prompted to update last night , after a 3 hour update i have no desktop icons or panels after login. (new bug reported), Very Likely i'll be installing windows again. :(

system crashed completely after and update , closing this out to report new bug.
