linux is a completely different operating system than windoze. some programs work if you install wine, but yahoo messenger isn't one of these programs.

you can however, use empathy which is included with ubuntu in place of yahoo messenger. your friends will think you're using yahoo and won't know the difference.

If you are very sad to not be able to use Yahoo! Messenger in Linux/Ubuntu, please contact Yahoo! and ask them to release a version for Linux.

Just as Microsoft does not control which programs are released on Windows (generally speaking), the same is true for Linux/Ubuntu - the choice is up to the developer of the program.

Empathy doesn't seem to support webcams for Yahoo! yet, but you may want to try Gyachi for that, it's meant to be a Yahoo! Messenger replacement. http://www.webupd8.org/2009/05/howto-linux-ubuntu-gyachi-yahoo.html

Last time I checked, TRAKTOR worked when run with Wine (a Windows compatibility layer for Linux) but did crash once during a session of a few hours.
There is also a native Linux DJ program called Mixxx (http://www.mixxx.org/) that seems to be really rather good - and free.

Can you help with this problem?
