the error means wine1.3 is not in the repositories

please tell us what are you trying to do and which ubuntu version are you using

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install wine1.3

I am using ubuntu 10.10 .
and i have also installed the repiratory/added the respiratory.
i also use a proxy.

If you can install ANY app then the proxy is fine. The command I gave will add the wine ppa and install wine1.3
