You have to use Windows Emulators in order to run Windows executables in Ubuntu. You have choices such as:

the Free one:

- WinE

sudo apt-get install wine

With price:

- CrossOver

HTH.

You have three solutions (and I use personally all of them).
1) Dual boot, i.e. Windows alongside from Ubuntu (quite only solution for 3D games).
2) Wine which is an emulation of Windows system libraries (works fine with office software and some listed games).
3) Usage of a virtual machine (like Virtual Box) in which you install Windows (works for all but 3D games).

Can you help with this problem?
