Possible to add software from cd?

Asked by Claud Bell

I am new to Ubuntu, so perhaps missing something, but need help on how to install software from a cd. I have been using Windows, but tired of the hassles. Is it possible to install AOL?
I do think that I will enjoy Ubuntu.

Hello,

what would you do? Use the Portalsoftware from AOL?, use the AOL Messenger and Contacts or an AOL Internet Access?

Hey exe files are not executable in ubuntu by default.. You need to install wine(WINdows Emulator)... wine is mentioned in the ubuntu repositories... try sudo apt-get install wine in a terminal.. For more info on wine, installation, faq, applications/games supported refer links 1,2,3,4,5 below.
