Why cant I insall all my windows based softwares in Wine? Can't you develop wine to fully meet windows compatible software? Then when more people use ubuntu will it be hacked like windows?

Not all apps work. You are forgetting that wine is attempting to accommodate a proprietary system which is not published at all. Unless Microsoft publish a LOT of their OS innerworkings it will never fully meet requirements of all windows softwares.

The windows software only runs and accesses the ~/.wine folder, so any nastys will ONLY affect the stuff in that folder, you can make it access your docs from within wine and maybe they can be affected but it will not compromise your Ubuntu system.

If you want a 100% compatible system you will need to buy a windows license and install Windows in a virtualized system. This will bloat your OS as you will be running BOTH windows and Ubuntu at the SAME TIME.

I suggest you find alternatives, or dual boot to accommodate your windows needs.
