This is, I assume, a Windows program?

There is a mention of an earlier, discontinued version of a software from the same company over at the Wine website (www.winehq.org).

I suspect the only way to find out if it will work is to give it a whirl by installing Wine and then seeing if you can install and use the software you are after.

Step by step will depend on the software, but basically, install Wine in whatever way you prefer to install packages to your Ubuntu (Ubuntu Software Center, Synaptic, apt-get, aptitude....). Once Wine is installed, stick in the cd or whatever the program you are trying to install comes on and, once the contents of the disk come up, try clicking on the setup.exe file or whatever it has. If asked, choose to open using Wine. Alternatively, you can use a command line to run

wine /path/to/exe/setup.exe

Wine is good, but it can have its own issues with some Windows files - especially those with complicated copy protection. Working out the problems can be time consuming and need a reasonable understanding of how Wine works and the nuances of Linux and indeed Windows systems.

It may be easier if it fails to work, to either run a dual boot or perhaps install a basic copy of Windows into a VM - assuming you have a spare licenced copy - and run the program there.

Can you help with this problem?
