Camtasia player constantly crashing

Hi

I just got a CD from a friend with a load of tutorials that open in a .exe program file.
I've got the program open by just changing the permissions for it (allow executing file as a program).

but the problem is that all the videos open in camtasia player which crashes the moment i click on a tutorial.
it says the problem may be caused by the program or by a deficiency in wine

can anyone help?

(PS i found a file in the CD called camplay.exe and changed the permissions for that also).

You can try using the latest version from https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa
You could also try using winetricks to download some codecs (http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks) - should be installed alongside recent versions of wine from the ppa.
