Screen resolution/Battle for Wesnoth

Asked by Richard A Bevis

Hello out there,
I recently purchased a system76 Pangolin with nVidia GeForce G 105M. System76 builds computers with Ubuntu preinstalled (currently 9.10) including the nVidia drivers, so there's no problem there. Unfortunately, after I installed Wesnoth and set the screen resolution for 1366x768, when i try to start a campaign the "next" and "skip" buttons below the intro are off the bottom of the screen and you can't advance. It isn't as fun playing in a smaller resolution. Is there a way to access stuff that is off the edge of the screen? Or can I slide the whole window up in the frame? Maybe these are questions for the B4W, or system76 people, but as always, all help is greatly appreciated.
Richard

You may have to until you get an answer. I suggest you contact the B4W team to see if they can suggest anything.

How is a game less fun if you run it at 1024x768, you're only losing 300 pixels and it'll make the game run.

Lo and behold! I played around with the resolution choices in Wesnoth until I hit one that fully fit in my screen. Out of curiosity I clicked the maximize window button and a new resolution option exactly the right size and preselected appeared in the resolution choices window of B4W as if by magic. Pretty advanced stuff for a "Pong Child." Thanks all, Richard
