Can I remove web apps from the unity bar?

Asked by Andrew Worthington

Is there a way to keep web app functionality and integration with the notification area, while removing them from the unity launcher area?

I find the current layout to be redundant for most apps (such as gmail, where it is a tab, messaging menu icon, and unity menu icon.) Any help would be much obliged

If I unlock them they still appear while I am in the web app. I am looking for a way to prevent them from showing in the Unity launcher at all, as this is a feature that I never use.

Go to software-center, type "unity-webapps-" (without quotes) in the search query and remove the webapp in question.
