glxinfo | grep direct in the terminal gives command not found??

/var/log/xorg.0.log is a log, found in systemlog.....(system: management etc,.)

when playing 3 d games desktopeffects should be disabled!

I have Ubuntu 9.10, installed Warsow; the first time I ran it, I had options...so I tried to run a demo, clicked on the tutorial that was the only option, and system froze on filelist like menu...

Afterwards and since (and after a reinstallation), I only get a change of resolution to my desktop and nothing else happens...

I gave up trying to install Warsow on my laptop, but I did get it running on my desktop: an interesting game (in the geek concept anyway), but really not all that great. It kept freezing up on me, I kept getting blasted away, and the user interface blows...like there are all these variations of the game to log into, but no key to explain the difference...I uninstalled it and decided it wasn't worth the hard drive space, though it took forever to install it in the first place.
