In order to play media other than certain kinds of files, like OGG files, you'll need codec plugins. However, if your system doesn't have an Internet connection, it can be difficult to obtain the plugin files.

There is an application called APTonCD that you can run on a system with an Internet connection that will allow you to burn a CD with installed packages on it, so that you can download the necessary plugins on the connected computer and transfer them on CD to the computer you want to install codecs on.

I'd recommend using this to burn the packages in "ubuntu-restricted-extras." This contains most of the codec packages available for Ubuntu. Then, you can use the CD to install the packages on your system.

Open a Terminal in Applications -> Accesories --> Terminal and then writhe the following line:

sudo aptitude install ubuntu-restricted-extras

It install the next tools:

    * Plugin Flash
    * Sun Java 6
    * Codecs for audio y video
    * Unrar

Can you help with this problem?
