i am not getting color while running a video in ubuntu

while running a video in ubuntu i am getting black and white, there is no color in that video. there is no problem with audio...

Can you give more information about your OS, hard devices. In others programs have you get color???

my pc is having dual platforms,windows xp and ubuntu.
i am able to view wallpapers in color and except videos everything is fine, i am running those videos in vlc player and as well as movie player in ubuntu..screen resolution is1024* 768 and refresh rate is 60hz.but i am not getting colored video it is only black an white video............

My laptop's having dual Windows and ubuntu too.
About your problem, are you sure all your video file is color video??? You try to run those video file in Totem player - a video player default in Ubuntu.

hey guys, have same problem absolutelly not solved vith totem or vlc
have a dual boot xp ubuntu 8.04 on a intell dual core
just look perfect vith xp ;( n bnw with ubuntu. happened two days ago believe after update of system
