to install vlc media player

it is asking to remove another software which is conflicting to vlc.............in
synaptic manager....................but iam new to ubuntu and cannot proceed
further............please help me

Can you give us some more information? You want to install vlc?

open terminal and type:

sudo apt-get install vlc

then type your password

then post (copy past) the information you get in terminal here
