"The interface contains an easter egg which changes the VLC traffic cone logo so that it's wearing a Santa hat. The logo changes on December 18, one week before Christmas, and reverts to its normal appearance on January 1."

How is it offensive? Are you offended by all the christmas garb in the street forcing you to walk around with closed eyes for fear of spontaneously combusting? It's harmless and will be gone tommorrow (1st Jan) so I wouldn't sweat it.

If you are *Really* botherd by it locate the icon, and change it. Its probably stored in /usr/share/vlc/
