VLC doesn't open in one section

Asked by MadhuSoodanan

VLC media player does not work in the 'Administrator' section [ user ]. It is seen in a minimised form in the bottom panel. And cannot be played or opened. But a normal user or guest can play it easily. How can it be solved?

This is happened to me, that's probably not the case. It's probably a setting that you have to adjust. If you play something, it will no longer be in that state. Ofcourse, you can always re-install.

Re-installed several times. It runs smoothly only in ordinary user (Guest) section. It responds only for 'Move to Workspace Right' . Not for appearance; but disappearance. I am dealing this matter in Qn 138930 Chromium browser

Then you should try posting this on their Launchpad page. Or just using 'Totem.'

I meant to file this as a Bug on the VLC Project page on Launchpad (if
there is one, can't remember). Or just use Totem (Movie player) which
is the default player in Ubuntu, it can play lots of files. If you
don't like it, then you can search the software center for other
alternatives.

I had sent a bug report a few days ago using 'ubuntu-bug evince' .... about Update Manager & VLC ( not separately) . I do use Totem . Same Apport appeared....Since it was not about 'totem',....didn't report any thing using it. Need I report it separately?
