Can't install Win 7 guest additions VBox 3.1.2

Asked by mmino

When I run the VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe I get a NSIS error window popping up.
Stating " The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete.
This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.

You may want to contact the author of this installer to obtain a new copy.

It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRC command line switch
(NOT RECOMMENDED) "

Has anyone run into this issue before?
Thanks

To install virtualbox-guest-additions in Ubuntu simply install the

virtualbox-guest-additions

package

Here is not a support query and answer for Win but this message is typical of a damaged exe file.

Hey Marco nice to hear from you again :)

Humm, I am new to VirtualBox, maybe I am doing something wrong?
When I go to install Virtualbox-guest- additions with Win 7 runing as a guest host the Program error about VBoxWindowsAdditions.exe ( explained in previous message) comes up in Win 7 OS.
From your replay, it sounds like that is not suppose to happen?

I think this may be a WIn 7 issues.
I can't seem to install any exe files in Win 7 for some reason.
Even files download from the Microsoft web site are not installing, Win 7 does not even recognize the files are Microsoft certified....really odd problem.
I will change the status of this question to solved as I am confident it is a windows issue. If that changes I will reopen this question.
