can't open virtualbox shared folder from ubuntu

Asked by t_robert

everything used to be working fine with my virtual box installation. now, when i open my virtualbox shared folder from gnome, the window hangs. when i do a force quit, i get this error:

"Nautilus can't be used now, due to an unexpected error from Bonobo when attempting to locate the factory. Killing bonobo-activation-server and restarting Nautilus may help fix the problem."

from the xp installation, i have no problem accessing the shared folder. how can i fix this?
