Virtual Machine can't connect to Samba network
I have created a multiuser machine running Ubuntu 10.04 as the physical machine and then each user logs into their own machines using VirtualBox. All of the users are running Windows XP with a shared network using Samba. WinXP has ticked me off to the point that I have vowed to never use it again and I moved all of my files over to the network folder. I created a new virtual machine with an install of Linux Mint 12 and it is not able to connect to the network folder. All of the shared folder settings are the same between the WinXP machines and Mint 12. I have been trying to debug this one for the last few hours and have come up with a few possibilities. First, all of the virtual machines connected to the network are WinXP. I have several virtual Linux machines for testing but I never had a reason to connect them to the network folder. Is there some setting preventing the Linux machines from communicating? Second, the physical machine and all of the virtual machines are all named the same. My old physical WinXP machine on my LAN has the same name and doesn't like is. Is there a similar problem with this? If it is any help the Network folder I'm using is in the Home Folder of the physical machine.
Thanks!
