You need anything to install VirtualBox except the ".deb" file, which contains files to be installed and installation script.
Could you provide the link from which you get such information.

About the question:
The original question was about what the user missed in trying to install phpvirtualbox which is a related, but a separate application which uses VirtualBox.

Answer:
The answer is the user needs to install virtual box from source, since at this time of writing, the binary packages for virtualbox do not contain /etc/init.d/vboxweb-service, which is present in the source.

Why is vboxweb-service missing?
The reason for why the script is missing is probably due to Linux services differing across distributions and hence the script may need to be modified to be compatible with specific distributions.

Can you help with this problem?
