meta key (ctrl+c ctrl+v ....) doesn't work

hi everyone,

i'm runing virtualbox on ubuntu..i have win xp as virtual host , after updating to ubuntu 11.10 meta key (ctrl,.... ) doesn't work , it did before nicely . could someone help with this plz

sorry for the second post ..i mean it doesn't work on the virtual host not on ubuntu , but as i said it did before plz i need help with this

If you run:

xev

and press the key, does it generate events?

hi andrew ,
first thknx for reply...but what do u mean by "run xev" ?
if typing xev on terminal yes it generate generate event that's mean for me display a little window inside it a square and some technical stuff on terminal do u want me to post it here ???

Then the key is generating correct events. If you are copying and pasting from the terminal then you need to use CTRL+Shift+C and CTRL+Shift+V to copy and paste respectively. Is this what you are trying to do?

no,i'm trying to work on the virtual host (developping some stuff) and i need the meta key working on it .

Take a look at System Settings > Keyboard Manager. Click on the Options... button. In the Keyboard Layout Options dialog, expand Alt/Win key behavior. What is it set to? Are there options there that look more promising?
