yes it is. if you want a dual boot, you'll have to reinstall the grub bootloader.
if you want to overwrite ubuntu with windoze, you just install windoze and ubuntu will be erased.

The suggested way:

1) install Virtualbox
2) then create a virtual pc
3) start the new empty without operative system virtual machine
3) install Windows on this virtual pc, simply putting the Win install cd into your cdrom reader

In this way you will keep the power and security of Ubuntu... and you will have also Win working at the same time, please use mainly Ubuntu to go on internet.
