usb devices greyed out in VirtualBox 4.0 on Ubuntu 10.10

USB devices are greyed out in VirtualBox 4.0 on Ubuntu 10.10. Followed all instructions from install of VB 4.0. Any ideas on this?

The opensource virtualbox doesn't have USB support. You will need the closed one to get USB access.

I am using the closed one from Oracle. There is full support for USB through an extension pack that has to be installed with the 4.0 version. I've retried each step of the process and still devices are greyed out.

Thanks everyone. I deleted the USB devices in the settings for the machines and then readded them. The devices are now visible in each machine.
